Paris Notebook

About me

I had always been one of those Americans who loved France and French culture, especially the cuisine. I bought French wine, cooked French food and studied French at the Alliance Française, always dreaming of living in Paris.  For my 30th birthday, I took myself on a week-long vacation to Paris and fell in love with everything about it.  As soon as I was home, I began plotting on how I could return.  One year later, without knowing a soul, I packed my bags for what I thought would be a one-year project to study French full-time at the Institute Catholique in Paris.  Ten years later, I am happily still here, living in the most beautiful city in the world.   This is my notebook to record some of the places I have found.

Hi – Your mom told me about your blog.
I love the picture of you and the articles about Paris. Michael and I have fond memories of our visit there with your mom and dad – you made it very special for us.
All the best wishes for your success.

Loved your report on the experience of judging the best baguette in France! I would have loved to have tasted the ten best, with a pot of beurre et de confiture aux fraises. Being a judge for the best croissant has to be next!

i just stumbled upon your blog – a very well-structured and interesting place to discover new stuff. Hopefully, you’ll include the 13th arrondissement at some point (some seriously good food in the 13th).
